FAQ

How much does your service cost?

At Ben Franklin Plumbing, we don’t charge by the hour. One of our professional plumbers will come out to your home, estimate the cost of the job and give you a straight-forward price before doing any work. The price range for any job in plumbing is so diverse according to the damage of the mishap and parts needed that it is most often misleading to give quotes over the phone without seeing the job.

How can I prevent my drains from backing up?

First and foremost, don’t pour grease of any kind down your drains. Jetting of all the plumbing in your home is the best prevention of clogged drains out there. For articles on how to prevent the drains from backing up in your home, visit our blog where plenty of free, useful information is posted.

How can I extend the life of my water heater?

Drain your water heater about twice a year. A tutorial and video on how to do so is posted on our blog along with many other useful articles. If you are not comfortable with doing this yourself, call one of our professional plumbers today to help you out. Draining your water heater will extend the life of your water heater, especially when done on a regular basis.

Do you offer HVAC services?

Yes, we have a sister company that we refer all our heating and air conditioning needs. Whether you’re having a problem with your boiler, furnace or others, give us a call and we will schedule an appointment for an HVAC technician to come and help you out. We also install whole home humidifiers to help with the dry Utah air.

What is the difference between a conventional and tankless water heater?

Tankless water heaters are able to supply hot water on demand and take up a lot less room. These tankless water heaters also save energy and provide endless hot water. For more details on tankless vs. conventional water heaters, take a look at our blog where we have several articles posted on these water heaters.

How fast can you get someone out to the job?

Most of the time we can get someone out to you the day you call. For particularly large repairs or installations, we may at times book you the next day.

Do you have a service fee/diagnostic fee?

We charge $29 for a plumbing job which can be waived under certain circumstances. For an HVAC job we charge a $69 service fee.
